The Dufour 36 Performance was elected European Yacht of the Year 2013 at this year’s BOOT boat show in Düssledorf. This sailing yacht is a perfect mixture of a fast speed boat, which will not embarrass you if you wish to race around buoys, and of a cruising sailboat that makes cruising cosy and comfortable. The wide open cockpit with removable storage/seats for easy manoeuvring, and the helm seat with good visibility when standing, still allows comfortable control in a convenient seated position shows that one can enjoy both competitive sailing and comfort at the same time. From the outside the Dufour 36 gives an impression of a powerful sailing boat, while the interior provides the comfort and convenient layout of a cruising sailboat. The interior is bright and warm because of the Moabi woodwork and the light ceiling, while the feeling of spaciousness is enhanced by double doors into the aft cabin. Moreover, there are two cabins with four beds, a large saloon, a bathroom and a kitchen. We can conclude that the designers Alain Mortain and Yiannis Mavrikos (who designed both the Dufour 37 and the Dufour 42) did a great job.
